Eco Committee News and Information

Meet the Eco Committee

Established September 2024, our Eco Committee are selected by their own classes based on their applications and their passion to support the school to become and Eco Friendly school.

We hold meetings at least once every half term, although sometimes this may be more often.

Together we have completed an Environmental Survey for the school and from that created our Action Plan (copies of these can be found on our notice board and the Action plan can be seen below).

We've lots of plans this year to help improve the school's Biodiveristy, Litter issues and wider environmental issues and awareness.

Eco News: Build a Nest Box Competition

Build a Nest Box Competition is now live - all we're asking is any budding wood workers could build a nest box for school - all entries will get a prize and a top prize will be awarded for the best built box. Competition details and links below, closes April 22nd 2025.

Eco News

This half term we have been running a 'Design a Calm Corner' competition to help build a calm, reflective, nature space for the children to enjoy alongside plants and animal habitats. The competition closes on February 14th when we will meet to select a winning design and start redesigning the outside space

Coming Soon...Build a Bird Box for the Calm Corner

The Eco Committee will be running another competition next half term on the run up to Easter to build a bird box for the Calm Corner. These will be mounted on the wall and painted bright colours to entice birds to nest and to make a lovley sight. If you're an amateur wood worker or have a relative who can help you learn the skills there are clear instructions on the RSPB site below:
